Wind & Sun designed and installed a small stand alone wind and solar system.
The wind and solar system provides power for a lock keeper's cottage on the Oxford canal. This is located over 1 mile from the nearest mains connection.
The PV array consists of 2 BP Solar monocrystalline PV modules mounted on the roof of the building. A Marlec Rutland battery charging wind turbine is mounted on a pole attached to the building. These charge a 12V battery bank which runs 12V lighting, pump, TV and radio.
