Storage batteries are the heart of all off-grid and back-up wind/PV or inverter electrical systems. Their function is to balance the outgoing electrical requirements with the incoming power supply. They offer a reliable source of electricity which can be used when solar or wind power is not available. Batteries are able to provide short term power output many times higher than the charging source output.

These are manufactured to stringent DIN standards (IEC-61427) for the support of PV systems and have an excellent reputation within the European power storage industry. For PV applications with limited depth of discharge the Hoppecke OPzS range can support up to 7500 cycles. They are made with a tubular plate design with a gauntlet that minimises the loss of active material. This combined with the use of recommended acid densities and gas and liquid tight post seals result in a design life of 15 years. Together with the optional AquaGen recombination caps they have extremely long intervals between topping up with water.

These sealed deep cycle batteries use a Gel electrolyte. They are spill-proof, leak-proof, never require watering, and don’t gas during normal charging. They can be mounted inside equipment enclosures. Often used in remote, unattended power systems. Due to their sealed nature it is very important to prevent overcharge & over-discharge. Labels are printed on self adhesive vinyl and are designed to remain legible and in place throughout the design life of the system. Labels are available individually on in sheets of one type.
