SolarEdge’s StorEdge DC coupled storage solution can be used to increase energy independence for homeowners by utilising a battery to store and supply power as needed. To optimise self-consumption, the battery is automatically charged and discharged to meet consumption needs and reduce the amount of power purchased from the grid.

The solution is based on a single inverter for both PV and storage. Existing SolarEdge systems can be upgraded to the StorEdge solution.

Allows connection of the LG Chem RESU H battery to a SolarEdge inverter.

  • Simple installation and connectivity of the battery and the SolarEdge Meter
  • Connects to the SolarEdge inverter in parallel to the PV strings

SolarEdge StorEdge AC coupled inverter

Used to add the StorEdge Solution to PV systems with a SolarEdge three phase inverter or with a non-SolarEdge inverter;

  • Compatible with the SolarEdge StorEdge Interface and batteries such as the LG Chem RESU HV
  • Monitor battery status, PV inverter production, and self- consumption data for full visibility
  • IP65 – Outdoor and indoor installation
  • No high voltage or current during installation, maintenance or firefighting for maximum safety
  • The StorEdge AC Coupled Inverter does not work with power optimizers or as a standard solar PV inverter

SolarEdge Energy Meter with Modbus Connection

The SolarEdge Energy Meter with Modbus Connection measures production, consumption and feed-in to enable export control or limiting (supports G-100 in UK).

A wide range of CTs (current transformers) are available to support residential and commercial installations. Connection to the inverter or Control and Communication Gateway is achieved via RS485.

Highlights:

  • High accuracy meter readings (up to 0.5%) for production/consumption readings
  • Supplies meter readings to the inverter for Feed-in Limitation

Safety Note: CTs must never be operated open-circuit (secondary coil wires disconnected) once installed, whilst on a current-carrying conductor, as dangerously high voltages may occur under these circumstances.

LG Chem RESU H (High Voltage) 7 | 10

These have a nominal voltage of 400VDC and are available in two versions suitable for use with the SolarEdge StorEdge systems (SEG type).

Resu 7.0H has a useable capacity of 6.6kWh and peak power of 3.5kW.

Resu 10H has 9.3kWh useable capacity and max. power of 5kW.

The LG-Resu-HV-Handles enable easier and safe lifting of the LG Chem RESU high voltage range of batteries. Consists of 1 x left and 1 x right. The handles can be purchased once and then re-used on subsequent projects.

BYD Battery Box Premium LVS

The BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS is a modular lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack for use with an external inverter.

Between 1 and 6 battery modules can be used in a single stack to give 4.0 to 24.0 kWh usable capacity.

Alternatively, up to 16 Battery-Box LVS stacks consisting of between 1 and 4 battery modules can be connected in parallel to give a maximum capacity of 256 kWh. Additional LVS modules or parallel stacks can be added at any time to increase capacity.

1 PDU base and cover is required for each battery stack and 1 BMU per system/inverter

BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS Key Points

Temperature derating: Like many lithium batteries temperature effects how fast the battery can change and discharge. These latest BYD batteries have a very wide operating temperature range and will work at their peak performance ratings most of the time in most installations. Discharging isn't effected much by temperature, charging is effected mostly: below 5°C charge rate will reduce to 0.3C, below -2°C 0.05C.

Note: Commissioning the battery requires a device capable of running the BYD Be Connect App - available for the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
