Solar & Storage Live 2017
3rd - 5th October 2017, The NEC Birmingham, UK
Our stand was very busy over all three days and in particular we had several new products which attracted great interest, including:
- The brand new SMA Core 1 50kW three phase inverter
- Exciting new commercial energy storage solutions from Tesvolt for both on-grid and off-grid applications
- Latest PV modules from REC Solar & LG Solar
It was great to hear that the industry is recovering from the doldrums earlier this year with many customers having growing order books and needing to secure supply.

Solar Power UK 2012
Wind & Sun exhibit at the NEC in Birmingham
The exhibition had 4,500 visitors, 178 exhibitors and 69 seminar speeches.
At the show Wind & Sun demonstrated our wide range of products and services: from recognised major system components such as inverters and modules to products new to the market including intelligent metering and display solutions.
A section of our stand was devoted to off-grid solutions (including a working solar borehole pump) and this generated considerable interest from visitors with projects all around the world.
Our technical experts were on hand to offer advice and we were pleased to meet so many of our existing customers as well of many new faces!
Other Events
Over the years Wind & Sun have attended a wide range of events including green and environmental shows, agricultural shows and steam rallies demonstrating renewable energy systems and equipment.
To do this we have had a sucession of mobile wind and solar generators which have been used to run: stage PA & lighting; fairground organs; radio broadcasts; sheep shearing; video projection; computers; recording equipment; tools; chargers and many other electrical loads. Since 1984 we have powered a stage and other attractions at the Glastonbury festival.
Mobile Solar Generator
Our latest mobile solar generator is based in a converted ex-police 'Special Vehicle' and uses 2 x Sunny Island inverters with a 25kWh Rolls AGM battery store capable of powering loads up to 10kW.
A 1.5kWp solar array on the roof charges the battery.
The lorry carries cables and equipment to enable a 'mini-grid' which to be formed at event sites for distribution of the power or to allow further solar generation to be coupled in.
