Meyer Burger

Meyer Burger offer three models of next generation high performance modules, White, Black and Glass. These are ideally suited for the residential and small commercial rooftop market with their high efficiency, light weight and elegant design. The panels have up to 400 Wp capacity in a standard 60 cell size, an efficiency of up to 21.8% and a homogeneous ‘full cell’ appearance even though half cells are used.

Thanks to the Meyer Burger patented and enhanced Heterojunction/SmartWire technology, their solar cells achieve a significantly higher energy yield than modules with the more common PERC technologies. That makes their solar modules the most powerful ones on the market as you can achieve much more yield (up to 20 percent) for the same amount of roof space. The proprietary heterojunction/SmartWire technology aids the elegant design and improves cell stability making the modules less susceptible to so-called micro-cracks, one of the most common reasons for energy losses in solar modules. An ultra-stable special backsheet further protects the cells from moisture and other environmental influences.

Designed in Switzerland and made in Germany Meyer Burger manufacture the modules at their renewably powered factories in Bitterfeld-Wolfen and Freiberg, Germany.

The white and black module variants come with performance guarantees of more than 92% after 25 years, while that of the glass-glass product is guaranteed at over 93% after 30 years. The glass-glass module is bifacial, with a record-high bi-faciality factor of 90% when it comes to volume production. It achieves a combined output of more than 430 Wp at standard measurement conditions (BSTC).

Sustainability

Meyer Burger's philosophy of integrated production of solar cells and solar modules, makes sustainability their number one priority with a committment to reducing CO2 emissions, limiting energy and water consumption and promoting waste recycling. In 2020, 16402 MWh of electricity was produced with their own PV systems. Manufacturing is based in Germany goods and services are mainly procured from local manufacturers and European suppliers
