Fronius has introduced two new exciting features: their AI-based energy management tool, the Fronius Energy Cost Assistant, and their web shop for UK based end-customers.
Fronius Web shop in the UK:
Fronius has launched its Web shop in the UK, accessibly from the Solar.web platform. The platform allows end-customers and installers to purchase select products and upgrades.
Products available include:
- Upgrades for GEN24 inverter to a GEN24 Plus hybrid inverter
- Solar.web Premium Subscriptions, offering advanced monitoring features
- Extended warranties – for 3 months, 1 year or 3 year plans

Fronius Energy Cost Assistant (ECA) – AI-Based Energy Management:
The Fronius Energy Cost Assistant automatically supports you as a PV system owner with battery storage to improve your energy use. This allows you to get the most out of your storage system and also save on electricity costs.
It’s an AI-powered tool designed to help homeowners with solar PV systems and battery storage optimise energy usage and reduce electricity costs. The AI technology continuously analyses the expected PV production of your system, your energy consumption and the current electricity price and adapts the storage strategy accordingly. No additional hardware is required; the assistant is managed entirely through the Solar.web Premium platform.

The Fronius Energy Cost Assistant is now officially listed as Works with Octopus!
Fronius has announced that the Energy Cost Assistant (ECA) is officially listed as Works with Octopus, meaning it fully integrates with Agile Octopus and other time-of-use tariffs from Octopus Energy. This allows your system to:
- Charge your battery when Agile prices drop (even when they go negative)
- Use stored energy when Agile prices increase
- Maximise export value when partnered with compatible export tariffs
Agile Octopus’ tariff prices change every 30 minutes based on wholesale market rates. Since the pricing can change dramatically, automated control is essential, which the Fronius ECA can achieve seamlessly.
To use the ECA with Agile, you need:
- A Fronius GEN24 Plus or Verto Plus inverter
- A compatible battery storage system
- A Fronius Smart Meter
- An active Solar.web Premium subscription, currently £21.84 per year (price correct as of Jan 2026)
- A time based tariff such as Agile Octopus
