We’re pleased to introduce Sunwoda and their battery systems into the Wind & Sun range. The collection integrates seamlessly with our existing product portfolio - pairing with the SMA Sunny Island X to provide a fully integrated storage solution for flexible and scalable commercial and industrial applications.
Sunwoda Energy Technology Co., Ltd, part of the Sunwoda Group, is a global battery technology manufacturer driving innovation in the new energy sector.
Founded in 1997 in Shenzhen, China, the company initially gained recognition as a manufacturer of mobile phone batteries, supplying major technology companies including Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi. Since then, Sunwoda has expanded significantly and now develops battery solutions across multiple sectors including consumer, vehicle batteries and energy storage solutions.
To support continued innovation, Sunwoda established the Guangdong Distributed Comprehensive Energy and Storage Engineering Technology Research Centre. Allowing them to offer integrated, full-lifecycle energy storage solutions for network, residential, commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility-scale applications.

Battery Passport & Recycling:
One of Sunwoda’s most notable sustainability initiatives is its Digital Battery Passport, which provides enhanced transparency and traceability across the battery lifecycle.
The system assigns each battery a Unique Digital Identity (UDI) and records structured lifecycle information covering manufacturing, supply chain sourcing, and operational data.

Supply Chain Traceability System: A platform that gathers lifecycle data from internal systems and external partners, ensuring seamless compliance with global traceability and disclosure standards.
Carbon Footprint Calculation: A Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) management tool built to adapt to evolving regulations and support rigorous third-party auditing and reporting.
Due Diligence Management: OECD-aligned oversight enhanced by expert third-party audits and automated risk screening to quickly identify and resolve high-priority issues.
Digital Battery Passport: A secure, role-based disclosure system that provides stakeholders with on-demand data while maintaining strict platform governance and information security.
This level of transparency aligns with emerging regulatory frameworks in Europe and supports the industry’s move toward more sustainable battery supply chains.
